Stepping out of the box

:..Stepping out of the box..:

Recently, I have decided to try something different. Usually I wear hair extensions or weaves if you will. But lately I haven't been able to make it to the salon so I decided to try my hand at managing my own hair(something I've tried to steer clear of) since it doesn't work well for me.

I decided to go natural (chemical free) 3 years ago and while I love that my hair has returned to its natural state, its very hard for me to manage because it's so thick. Recently I went on Youtube to find some ideas of ways to manage it from other girls with the same texture of hair. My hair texture is 4C which is very coarse and thick. As you can see in the picture I chose to go with a twist out.

On the eyes: neutral look created with BH cosmetics 88 neutral pallete
On the lips: NYX Vitamin

Thanks for visiting 😀

It's Nail Time! Sinful Shine nail polish haul

Hi beauties!
Okay while I am the worst at polishing my own nails, I just couldn't wait to show you all the goodies I found the other night at Walmart. I was not originally there for beauty items, but more for snacks for my husband and somehow as we made our way to the register I was a tad detoured and happened to end up on the beauty aisles. Upon passing down the aisle these beauties caught my eye. On the display it said "NEW."not only are they new,  Wal-Mart was selling them at an awesome price $1.50 each! Check them out!

I grabbed pretty much each color I saw that I've been wanting for a while. There were a few colors left behind but I plan to return soon for those babies.

L to R
☆Your's Truly-Pink
☆Alfresco - Powder Blue
☆At Sea-Teal
☆Rendezvous- Mint Green
☆Mardi Gras- Coral/ Orange

Sinful Shine with Gel Tech comes in 32 beautiful colors

All About the Ben Nye-Sienna & Chestnut Review

Happy Sunday to all you Savvy sisters!

So for some time now, I've heard so many great things about the Ben Nye  Translucent powders. I never really took the time to order them because I tend to get impatient when waiting on packages to arrive in the mail. So I have been debating with myself about if I wanted to purchase them here at a local theatrical store for $8.99 or pay $7.00 for each and wait for the delivery, I finally went with ordering them online
There were a variety of shades to choose from ranging from light to dark. The smallest size comes in a 1.5 oz shaker bottle for $7 and they have 9 different shades to choose from. Want to know the best part about it? There's a shade for everyone!

I purchased Sienna and Chestnut based on other girls reviews and referencing my NW47 skintone. Sienna and Chestnut turned out to be very good matches. This will be a review so I will try to cover all bases of the products.

Sienna has more of a yellow or orange undertone
Chestnut has a reddish undertone

Uses:
Sienna is used to set my highlight and under eye concealer
Chesnut is used to set my foundation-perfect match

Quality:
I absolutely must say that this product is very pigmented. A small amount (and I mean small) goes a very long way. You have to be careful when applying because if you take out too much you will have fall out which is completely normal with any powder. The bottle is a shaker bottle so once you have taken out the product its very hard to put any extra back in the bottle and can get a little messy if not careful. Both powders are very good quality for a fabulous price! Ben Nye is a well known brand used by many professional mua's and has been around for quite a while.

Cons: can be a bit messy, but nothing a makeup wipe can't fix.

Product give or take will last you from 6 months to a year.

All in all I have no regrets on purchasing either one of these powders because they are not only highly pigmented but they are also well priced.  I recently found myself wanting to order more the darker shades such as ebony which is a dark brown perfect for contouring or the topaz which could be used for a more fierce highlight. If you are new to makeup such as myself and want to test out the products without spending a fortune, I would recommend buying them on here camera ready cosmeticsThe price is very affordable and the shipping was very fast, simple and more importantly only $2. You can't beat that beauties!

                                  ♡♡♡♡♡
Have any questions about either of these two products? Feel free to leave questions below. Thanks for reading!

Lipstick Mania! (Happy National Lipstick Day!)

Happy Tuesday dolls!

To all my lipstick lovers, this one's for you. Today's National Lipstick day so I thought today would also be the perfect time to share with you all a few of my favorite lipsticks from my collection.  I have lots more lipsticks that I own, but I figured I would share with you all my favorite go-tos.

The colors included in this post are going to be a few shades of nudes, pinks and a few colors but they are all shades that I would wear from day to day.  I have dark skin, so with that being said I have to find colors that would go with my tone but I've yet to run across a color that I felt didn't match my nw47 skin tone. You will see various  drugstore/ beauty supply store brands from NYX, Covergirl Queen, and Klean Color.

I will start with nudes and end with colors. ..let's get started!

NYX - Creamy Beige
This beautiful cream based lipstick goes on smooth and has a very beautiful finish, one of my favorite nude colored lippies, it gives a very natural look. Apply with a coat of gloss and you are good to go! ☆Perfect for a no makeup look.

Klean Color French Garden #1 from L to R
French Garden is a very pale nude colored lipstick. I know in the picture it looks white but its not I promise. I find this color to be a little to light for my skin tone but too make it work, I would apply it with one of my darker brown lippies and a lip pencil to darken it up a little.

Covergirl Queen-Penelope Pink

A very light, beautiful baby pink lippie. Great for the "Barbie Look" or if you are going for a look thats subtle but you want to make a statement.

NYX-Thalia

A cream based lipstick that is not only a beautiful tea rose pink but gives you a very classy look. I like this color because not only is is very easy to apply, it goes with pretty much every look that you can think of. Pink is like a neutral color in my makeup world, when you can't think of any other color appropriate for a specific look...Go pink!

NYX-Harmonica

Harmonica is a very light, pale shade of pink. I call it the "Barbie" Lipstick. I have tried to wear this color alone but I find that I like to mix it with a darker color to give it that ombre affect.

Covergirl Queen-Dazzle

hmm what shall I say about this faboulous color!? First off, I would like to apologize because my camera isn't doing this color any justice but it's a beautiful pink color. I've noticed that Covergirl products are very long-lasting and apply very easily. This is one of my frequent go to colors because its perfect for a simple pink lip, it's not too bright and not too dull.

NYX-GEM

NYX-VITAMIN

Looking for a Coral lippie? look no further. I adore Nyx Vitamin. I think they knew exactly what they were doing when they created this color. This color is beautiful yet simple enough to dress up or down. I've worn this color for a night out as well as just a simple day out and both were faboulous! perfect for any shade of skin. I love #NYX

KLEAN COLOR-CAST OF SPELL

This beautiful lavendar colored lippie is very beautiful, to me its out of the box and makes a statement. Apply with the perfect eye and a top of gloss and you will be sure to be the star of the night!

NYX-CHAOS

Bright, Bold, Beautiful red cream lipstick, I absolutely adore this color because it just says classy all over it. I will admit it took me a while to find the confidence to wear this color but once I put it on, I fell in love. Check out me wearing #chaos in a previous blog (here)

NYX- SNOW WHITE

Snow White is a darker version of Chaos. If you prefer a darker red with more of a brownish undertone to it, this one's for you. I find that I prefer the brighter red but I like this one as well. I could see a little black dress with a gold statement necklace and a smokey or neutral eye would be perfect for this shade.

So girls! Those are just a few of my favorite lipsticks that I own. I have many lipsticks in my collection but I find that these are the ones I grab for first. I will do a complete lipstick collection blog so you all can see some of the other ones I own if interested. All items included in this blog was purchased with my own money and very affordable. They are all drugstore/ Beauty Supply Store brands.

Questions and comments are always welcome!
Thanks for reading!

☆♢☆♢Hello 25☆♢☆♢

Hiiiiii everyone
I wanted to share with you that my birthday just recently passed on July 20. I turned the big 25! Can you believe it? I can't.  I was not only super excited I felt like I hit a major milestone in my life because 25 is like the start of something new. I love life all in itself and wanted to share just how happy I was to bring in my birthday. Now I know it's a bit late to be sharing this seeing that it's 7/26 but I just didn't get the chance to blog that day, so sorry next time i will be more prompt.

My birthday fell on a Sunday this year and I am Christian so my very first stop being going anywhere else was to church. Yes right to church, I just couldn't miss it. I took off the entire weekend to celebrate!

Originally I was supposed to get a hotel room near one of our gorgeous beaches here in Clearwater, Florida but something happened and the reservation that was supposed to be made, never was made so that did not go as planned. I was a bit disappointed with how that went but I did not let that stop me from enjoying my day. I decided to go shopping, and that's what I did I really went shopping and had so much fun doing so. I found some really great finds at such great prices! So keep an eye out for that haul I will be sharing with you all very soon.

Thanks for reading you all!

Vibrant Flowers in Paradise

Vibrant Flowers In Paradise

Happy Wednesday all!
I decided to have a play day in makeup, and do a makeup look inspired by my outfit of the day.
This look includes more colors than my usual makeup looks but I decided to just have fun with it.
I love makeup because it brings out the creativity in anyone. Makeup is not a requirement but it definitely enhances and I have sooo much fun doing so. Some days when I am bored or I am just feeling a little blue I will pull out my palettes and just start to creating whatever comes to mind, and in no time I am all smiles, thats the effect makeup has on me.

I call this look Vibrant Flowers in Paradise because not only does the front of tank top have a eiffel tower and the words" in Paradise" but the colors of the shirt are ultimately gorgeous and include beautiful colorful flowers on the back.

Here's the FOTD

A very special day!

July 4th was not only Independence Day, but also a day of spending time with family. I am such a workaholic, so many holidays I am stuck at work because my job operates 365 days per year, while everyone else is enjoying the holiday. I decided to take the day off to spend it with family and I must say although I wasn't on the clock making money, the benefits far outweighed being at work.
I wanted to share with you all my OOTD. I decided to step out of tradition this year and wear a color other than red, white or blue just to try something different. Now don't get me wrong I love my Country but I just felt like going a different route this year so I did.
The color of the day for me was Coral and I absolutely loved it. I had a blast piecing this together.

Love with a dash of red!

Welcome dolls!
Today's post is going to be a very simple look that I could not wait to show you guys! On a recent haul this shirt was one of the items I picked up because of the word "Love"on it, Love is such a powerful word and has always been to me.Originally when I picked out this outfit to wear today I had a simple look in mind; just shirt and tights, but as I begin to get dressed I figured hey, let me spice it up a little bit. So I went over to my makeup section and begin to think of ways to add that "spice" to it. I pulled out my red earrings and then added the lipstick to give it that POP I was going for. Dressing up is such a fun way to show of your creative side and I had so much fun doing just that today. So enough of my rambling here's the look!

Here's a close up of the Earrings

And finally the most fun part of it all...The Makeup!!!

Color me Warm{OOTD}

♢Color Me Warm♢

I find one of my most favorite neutral/warm colors to be tan. I know it's summertime and that screams bold, vibrant, fun colors without a doubt, but the look I was going for today was a neutral look. I have always loved how tan can be paired with various colors and it gives such a cute and classy appeal. So with that in mind, here's what I came up with.

I decided to pair these nude colored high waisted leggings with this beautiful chiffon batwing blouse that I purchased a little while ago from Rue 21. The blouse features lace detail all the way around the bottom edges of it and beautiful floral embroidery at the top; that throws in a hint of brown and pink. This is one of my most favorite blouses in my closet because it is so chic!
The tea rose colored sandals are simple sandals with a buckle that I decided would pair perfectly with this outfit to allow the pink in the blouse to pOp!

Bumblebee inspired OOTD

                               Buzz Buzz
Today's look is going to be a simple, yet chic and comfy look. These are the looks I tend to go for on days like today, where here in Florida it was very hot and humid. When picking out my clothes for the day, I figured I wanted to be comfy and cute so I styled a pair of plain black leggings with this thin yellow tank top. Who doesn't like to be comfy right?
Can you spot baby bee? :)

Now, while the tank top and leggings are basic staples, I personally believe the shoes is what set the entire outfit, and made it stand out.
I absolutely love black and yellow paired together!

The boots are a Fashion Trend, they are fashionable rubbery rain boots also known as galoshes. Now before these babies became a trend you could not pay me to wear rain boots, but the very moment I saw them they became an immediate must have! They are sure to make a fashion statement,I love them because they are just so comfy and come in a wide array of colors including transparent with color soles.

These boots were purchased at a local beauty supply for $19.99

Creme Of Nature Argan Oil Perfect Edges (Edge Control Review)

Hello, Hello, Hello my fellow beauties

I am doing a review on one of my favorite items on the market today....can you guess what that is...? Its Creme of Nature Argan Oil edge control. Now this stuff may come in a small 2.25oz jar but when I say it's amazing, it's Ah-mazing!!!

The consistency is thick enough to hold down those fiesty edges, but not thick enough to weigh your hair down. When you have hair like mine, that is thick and almost untameable not just any old product will work for your hair.

My Natural Hair Story
I decided to go natural about 2 years ago, I gave up on getting relaxers and even adding heat to my hair to straighten it. It has been one heck of a ride being that I had no clue what I was getting myself into when I decided to leave all of the hair aid alone. I have used a number of products and very often was it more of me wasting my money, because they could not stand up to my 4C coarse textured hair. There were also times I would become so frustrated because different people would recommend me products to use but they still wouldn't work. Finally after months and months of buying products and testing them on my hair I decided I would learn some natural care remedies such as twist outs to help with preventing tangling to help with my problem and so far it has been working well.

So back to the review...

As I was mentioning, this edge control was not only designed for people such as myself with those stubborn edges, it also gives your hair a wonderful shine from the oil that is infused within the edge control and to top it off the smell is incredible!

Cons: There is only one thing I do not like about this product and that is the build up it leaves if you put too much on your hair, it gives your hair a sticky, oily look but that's nothing a little shampoo can't fix

Creme of Nature Compared to other brands

I've only tried the olive oil edge control, which is also a good product. but it has a thinner consistency that does nothing for my hair but give it a beautiful gloss. I prefer the Argan Oil brand more than the olive oil as it has a much better hold in regards to my hair staying in place.

Do you use this product? What do you think about it?

Thanks for dropping by..Xoxo!!

So Chic Home Decor

Hi lovelies
Today's post is about Home Decor. As we all know decorations and design can bring life to an old boring room. Isn't it amazing how just adding a few pictures to a wall,a new paint color on the wall, a beautiful vase filled with a bouquet of flowers on a side table and a lit candle can just change the atmosphere of the entire room? Its possible!

Lately I have fallen in love with the oh so fabolous color purple it just gives me bursts of joy to wake up to such a beautiful color. My room is what I would call "dipped in purple."  Want to see how I sleep every night? Take a look!

This comforter set is not only cute and girly but very vibrant! I can never get enough of the floral pattern and take a peek at the purple and white curtains added just to give it a spark!

New Goodies! (Mini Fragrance Haul)

              *New Bath&BodyWorks Goodies*
Hiii Beautiiii's,
This post is going to be short, sweet and simple.I wanted to come and share with you all my newest addition to my fragrance family from Bath and Body Works.
Recently BBW ran another one of their awesome sales and guess who had to take apart in it? Yes, this girl right here! This sale was no ordinary sale though, let me explain. It was about 4p.m in the middle of the day and just randomly Bath and Body Works just decides to put all of of their Spring Fragrances and body lotions on sale for $5 each. Yes, thats right $5 each! but the only thing was that it was an ONLINE only and it ended at MIDNIGHT. No biggie right? I was at work and I had left my bank card at home. I was so unprepared! I got off of work at 11p.m and rushed home all so that I could take advantage of this sale. I am such a junkie right!?

From Left to Right:
Morocco Orchid &Pink Amber
A floral scented fragrance mist, inspired by one of the three countries featured in the new  signature collection Bath& Body mists.

French Lavender and Honey
I consider this fragrance to be very soft and relaxing. If you are having a hard time sleeping or just need to relax after a long day, take a nice long bath and spritz this all over you afterwards and you will certainly relax.

London Tulips and Raspberry Tea
This fragrance is a floral scented fragrance as well, I absoulutely love how it smells. London Tulips is more of a sweet smelling fragrance that easily grasps you and awakens you wholeheartedly.

Tokyo Lotus and Apple Blossom
My most favorite fragrance of them all is this particular one! Its hard to explain what you feel when you spray this wonderful fragrance all over yourself, its so vibrant is unbelievable how much joy you feel with just one simple spray. This is definitely a fragrance every diva should own.

I also purchased two of the triple hand creams but these were bought in store for $6.25 each.

                                                                      ---------------

Do you own any of these new products from the signature collection?

Trendy & Tribal

Hi Fashionistas!
Today's look was inspired by this beautiful midi dress that I recently purchased. This dress was purchased at Rainbow for $7, it was on clearance and everyone knows that I love steals!

I considered this dress to be tribal due to the patterns and beautiful array of warm colors found in this piece. The sleeves are mid length and the dress is perfect for the hot day that we are having here today in Florida, its thin enough to feel a breeze but not too thin to be sheer and see through.
I paired this dress with a pair of black bow-tie flats and found that they went pretty well together. All in all this look was created for me to be comfy and that I was from sunrise to sunset!

Hair:
My hair is in mid sized twists so I decided to pull it up into a very high messy bun at the top and leave the back down. I was complimented on how well it suited the dress.

On to the fun stuff.....Makeup!!
Using my BH Cosmetics Pallete I created a reddish gold eye inspired by a few of the colors found in this dress. Oh how much fun it is to be able to be so creative when dealing with fashion and makeup!
Here's a closeup on the eye:

Purple Me Up!

Hi loves!
How many of you love the color purple? Have you ever noticed it just makes you happy just seeing the beautiful color?
Well I love purple! Its vibrant, and is a very classy color, purple can almost be combined with any other color and create a Fabulous look and can be used on any shade of skin and still be perfected. I'd like to think it can be considered as the new red or black.

Yesterday I decided to play in makeup and create a look. Could you guess what color I decided to go with? Purple? You guessed it right! Now this shade of purple was a tinge darker than lavender but very very close. I threw some pink in there to spice it up a bit and I think I was very happy with the outcome. Check it out!

To create this look I used one of my May Favorite items: 88 Color Cool Matte Eye-shadow Palette
Eyeshadow Base: LA Colors Jumbo eye pencil: White

And....

Just an added bonus! Purple Nails!!
NYC nail polish(sorry the color faded off of the bottle) but it was purchased at Walmart.

Oh how I just love Purple!

What do you think of this purple look?

Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation Review

Hola Beauties,
Today I wanted to share with you all one of my favorite foundations. The Mac Studio Fix Fluid foundation!!

I wanted to share with you all just how wonderful this stuff is. Now as everyone knows Mac can be a bit pricey and I am not one to spend a heap of money on one particular makeup item, but EVERY girl should own at least one bottle of this gorgeous foundation. This small bottle retails for about $28, purchased from the Mac store, but guess what....that 1 oz bottle is enough to last you for months...Why? Because all it takes is one pump and that's enough to provide coverage for your ENTIRE face!_Can you believe it!? Welp, its true.

When applying to your face to achieve the best application possible you should use a "flat top" or Kabuki brush, such as the one shown below.
I used my flat top foundation brush and the foundation just spreaded so evenly.

This foundation certainly has a huge duty to uphold in regards to providing full coverage, but I must say that it also leaves your face feeling light. Many foundations make your face feel heavy and sticky afterwards.

The product provides long wear coverage as well. I put on makeup before I left the house and did not need to touch up my face at all during the day. How awesome is that!?

PROOF THAT IT STAYS IN PLACE!
my husband is such a sweetheart that he pinched my cheeks and I said "babe you do realize I have on makeup right!" He goes "oops!, sorry I forgot!" So I say "look at your hands to make sure there's no makeup on them" sure enough Wa LA....nothing on his hands at all! I instantly fell in love with this foundation all over again.

Sorry this review is so long but I have to say for the goodness in one small bottle, it's well worth the money. I recommend everyone to own at least one bottle, you will not be disappointed. Just apply with eyeshadow, blush, highlight and contour and go! Its definitely my #1 go to foundation.

Below is a picture of me using the Mac studio fix fluid as my foundation of the day.

A touch of Spring

Hi loves,
So today I was thinking, I am really loving the springtime this year. So many colors and fresh looks that you can create. It just gives you life! Any who, I have the day off and had planned to go out and pick up some goodies to add to my makeup collection but it is raining way to hard to go anywhere, so what else does a girl do when she's stuck in the house?
Play in makeup! Fun fun fun!

This is the look I came up with, it looks pretty simple but I took my time because I had no idea where I was going with it.

This look was created using BH Cosmetics Cool Palette and a 4 eye shadow pallette from walgreens by profusion and lipstick is NYX Thalia
